Hello curious visitor!
I am Carolina and I was born in Monterrey, MX. Before I started my path in data science, I worked as a refrigeration engineer, a commercial solar plant engineer and LEED certification consultant.
In 2016, I married Al Grant and we adopted Lucca, the fluffiest pom in the hood. We are transplants from Monterrey > Vancouver > San Francisco.
When I’m not working, you will find me doing “experimental cooking”, hosting board game evenings. Our collection is now over 50 games and growing!
Currently, I am the Co-Managing Director at Girls in Tech SF. Also, I’m a podcast enthusiast and creator of Radio Horror, a horror movie and history show in Spanish.
In 2013 I founded Board Games Monterrey to awake and connect the board game community in Monterrey. Now we have 1,300 members and we organize monthly events featuring game design and development, workshops and panels.
My favorite podcasts are: You are not so smart, Philosophize This! and RadioLab.
I see myself as a passionate data scientist, promotor of women in STEM and community buiilder.
